Background: distracted walking

Children and teenagers are often distracted by their smartphones. In traffic this can have fatal consequences. The problem: ordinary warnings by parents or teachers don’t work when it comes to distracted walking. For this reason Watch Out! is an ideal tool against the dangers of distraction as gaming, writing or reading: it immediately blocks any smartphone activity on the device itself, seconds before crossing the street.
The initiative Watch Out! uses beacon transmitters in a completely new way, which can save lives: it stops kids in traffic from being distracted by their smartphones. Once the app is installed, distracted kids are warned at dangerous locations like traffic lights: their devices receive a signal from a beacon transmitter nearby.
A warning screen appears and all smartphone activities like gaming, writing or reading are immediately blocked. As a result the kid’s attention is fully brought back to traffic.

Have a look, how Watch Out! keeps kids and teenagers safe in traffic.

Make Germany safer!

Mark dangerous locations like pedestrian crossings or traffic lights in your environment on the map.

Our Watch Out! team will check whether a beacon transmitter will be installed at the location. Thank you for your help.
